If I find wall damage or uneven surfaces behind the old tile, I explain the best preparation approach before moving forward. What’s included: surface protection, removal of the existing backsplash (when required), wall prep for a flat base, tile layout and installation, precise cuts around outlets/switches and corners, grouting and cleanup, edge finishing, and a final visual check for straight lines and clean transitions.

When this service is a good fit: your backsplash is stained, dated, cracked, or has failing grout/caulk, you’ve upgraded counters/cabinets and want a clean matching finish, or you want better wall protection behind the sink and cooking area.

Process & expectations: I confirm the tile type and layout, protect countertops, prep the wall, set tiles with consistent spacing and alignment, and then grout and clean the surface. I pay special attention to outlet cutouts and finishing so cover plates sit properly and the backsplash looks straight across the entire run. The goal is a neat, durable finish that looks “built-in,” not patched together.

Not included / when another pro may be required: this service does not include relocating electrical boxes, adding new wiring/circuits, or changing electrical connections. If your backsplash plan requires moving outlets, changing box depth significantly, or regulated electrical work, a licensed electrician may be required. If I find conditions that need larger wall repairs or other trades before tile can be installed properly, I will tell you upfront so you can make the right decision.
