Smart door lock installation in Ottawa

Upgrading from a regular deadbolt to a smart, keypad, or keyless entry door lock? I install compatible smart door locks so the hardware sits securely, the latch lines up properly, and the lock operates smoothly without forcing the door. I remove the existing lock hardware, check the door preparation, make minor fit adjustments when needed, and align the latch and strike plate for reliable locking. After the lock is installed, I help with basic setup such as passcodes, auto-lock settings, and app or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi pairing where supported by the lock model. Before I finish, I test the door closing, locking, unlocking, and re-locking cycles to confirm consistent operation. If the door, jamb, or strike area needs more than minor adjustment, I explain the issue before proceeding. I serve Ottawa, Nepean, Barrhaven, Kanata, and Orléans.

What’s included: removal of existing lock hardware, installation of a compatible smart/keypad/keyless door lock, minor drilling or mortise adjustment when needed for fit, latch and strike plate alignment, hardware tightening, and full operational testing (open/close/lock/unlock).

When this service is a good fit: you bought a smart lock and want it installed correctly, you are replacing an old deadbolt with a keypad lock, the bolt rubs or sticks after installation, the lock motor struggles, or you want basic code/app setup after the hardware is mounted.

Smart lock setup & final checks: for compatible smart locks, I help with basic configuration such as pairing, setting user passcodes, enabling auto-lock, checking battery installation, and confirming that the keypad or app responds correctly. I also verify that the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly without needing to push or pull the door.

Not included / limitations: this service does not include re-keying cylinders, master-key systems, emergency lockouts, locksmith-only work, or high-security lock system design. It also does not include major door/frame rebuilding; if the jamb is severely damaged, the door is sagging heavily, or the strike area needs structural repair, I will let you know what needs to be addressed first. Smart lock features vary by brand and home network; I follow the manufacturer’s setup flow, but ongoing Wi-Fi, router, account, or app issues are outside the installation scope.
