Is your old range hood noisy, weak, or not venting properly? I remove the existing unit and install a new kitchen range hood neatly, making sure it is aligned, securely mounted, and finished cleanly. I connect the vent duct, install the damper, and seal around the vent connection to help maximize airflow and reduce lingering kitchen odors. After installation, I test the fan speeds and the lighting so you know everything operates as expected. If I find fit or venting issues (cabinet clearance, duct mismatch, or loose ducting), I explain the options before proceeding. Pricing is straightforward: the final scope and a flat-rate quote are confirmed before work begins. I serve Ottawa, Nepean, Barrhaven, Kanata, and Orléans.

What’s included: removal of the old hood (where accessible), basic surface preparation, alignment and secure mounting of the new hood, vent duct connection and damper installation (if applicable), sealing at the vent connection, and functional testing of the fan and lights.

When this service is a good fit: your hood is loud, vibrating, not clearing steam/odours, the light or fan is unreliable, or you’re upgrading to a newer model during a kitchen refresh.

Process & expectations: I confirm fit and vent type, remove the old unit, mount the new hood level and solid, connect and seal the duct, and then test airflow and operation. If your setup is ductless, I install the unit as designed and confirm proper operation based on the manufacturer’s configuration.

Not included / when a licensed electrician or other pro may be required: this service does not include installing new electrical wiring, new circuits, changing hardwired junction wiring where regulated work is required, or modifying the building structure for new exterior vent routes. If your installation requires new electrical work, new duct routing through walls/roof, or major modifications beyond the existing opening and accessible connections, I will tell you upfront so you can involve the appropriate licensed professional.
